It seems that every post gets harder and harder to write. I feel like I have nothing to say! I will try anyway.....
Well, it is definitely starting to get chilly. I am pretty sure I was freezing all day yesterday. It's ok though. We just have little heaters in each room, and they aren't on most of the time so it does get pretty cold. When the one in our room is on, me and Tasha (the kitty) like to sit in front of it all day... :).
So, in my last post I mentioned something about not having to get a visa. Well, the dream didn't last... We went to the prefecture with the documents they told us to bring, and it turns out I actually DO need a visa. I am not sure how that whole mix up happened, but that is where I am again. I feel so lost! I have no idea what to do. Time is flying by so fast and I feel like I have no time to figure it out! Ah! So, pretty much I am supposed to be out of here by the end of November..... We are going to talk with the prefecture again though to see what the deal is. So that's that.....
Also on Wednesday I babysat Celine's kids. They are so cute! Look at their haircuts! I think they are hilarious! The older one, Antonin, is 8 and the younger, Clement, is 4. I feel like they are both older, but that is what they told me :). I babysat them for 5 hours, but it went really well considering they don't speak english :). They try though, and it's awesome. We were able to communicate pretty well actually.
Clement is so cute! It kills me....
He was doing a booty dance......
I don't even remember what was going on here....
So, you probably wonder if we just take dumb pictures all day, every day. No.... just every night. So, the original plan was for me to have my own room when I stayed here, but because of the two students, I share a room with Amelia. Honestly, I am so glad! We wouldn't have half as much fun if we didn't! I mean really, this is ridiculous......
I assure you, she doesn't always look this ridiculous.... She was trying to look like a nerd :).
No comment..... Except to say, these are Amelia's glasses....
Hahaha, she was apparently trying to look like me. She couldn't get it right so she asked me to show her how to do it! Hahaha! Apparently I look over my glasses like this.... I don't know...weird.
Ok, what else...... well, if it works out and I CAN in fact stay, we were thinking of actually going to the London Temple. Wow! Are you kidding me!?! I am actually totally serious..... it would be a little more expensive than going to Spain, but a thousand times cooler :)... in MY opinion. The Spain trip in October is full apparently, so that is why we were planning to switch. Anyway....
Last night was Institute. It went well. I only got about half of what they were saying. I think this whole visa thing is engulfing me in sorrow... or else just filling all my thoughts because everyone was asking if everything was ok.... More than usual I mean :). I wasn't moping or anything, and I didn't think I was acting different, but apparently I was. Poo... Also, a little lesson in French. So, here when you see a friend you say, " Salut! Ca va?" which means "Hey! It goes?" but actually for some reason the "goes" part has decided to mean "ok," so it really means "Hey! It's ok?"..... and then you say, "oui." I think it is weird.... No one actually asks "how are you?" They just ask if you are ok :). Anyway..... voila. So, after Institute we watched the Lion King :). It was in French though..... it was pretty awful. English is a thousand times better! It really was awful. And they added this totally stupid part that Zazu sings! I couldn't believe it! I felt like I was watching those dumb ToonDisney sequels to good movies that nobody ever watches. I was very dissatisfied to say the least..... So, I would encourage you all to go watch The Lion King (in English.)
So, a couple days ago Amelia and her dad bought Walkyrie and Star Trek (the new one.) Well, we watched Walkyrie that night. It was ok. (Amelia was in love with Tom Cruise. That is the reason that they bought that one :). I never could understand why she was.... weird.) So, then the next night, we watched Star Trek. Well, Amelia has a new lover. Spock. It is completely true. She dropped Tom Cruise completely and is now infatuated by this new guy. Haha, so cool. I can definitely support her in this. Needless to say, she loved the movie :). Also, I just have to say... the night we watched Walkyrie, we had these sandwiches. It was just a baguette cut in half with lots of cream cheese and a little ham. Can I say that I love it with my whole being?? I love it with my whole being..... It is so delicious. They have a different kind of cream cheese here. It tastes pretty much the same, but it is kind of crumbly (as crumbly as cream cheese can be :)...) I can't describe it really, but I like it. It's delicious. Anyway....favorite. I am considering opening up a Baguette shop when I go back to Utah. I don't know how I have survive all this time without them....
Well, Guillaume is back from America and he brought gifts :). Well, it was actually Amelia's mom who sent them, but he brought them so that is awesome. We now have stashes of Candy Corn, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Fruit Roll Up, and gummies. Yes :). I knew I loved her mom! These are things you can't buy in France :). Well, except the gummies. There are lots of those here. I am not sure if there is something special about these ones, but we have them and they will be delicious I'm sure. Also, I love how I am saying "we" have all these things. Ok, false. They are Amelia's, but of course there is no way she would ever consider not sharing with me. She is an angel. "What can I say more?"......
Well, tomorrow I am supposed to be meeting up with Corentin at the tram stop and then we will be going to play American Football with the young adults. How did I get talked into this????? I don't even know! I am awful at sports!
Well, I am now officially a member of the ward (proably not for long though :(...). Also, I find myself being asked to play the piano for everything... Last Sunday I played in Sacrament Meeting. True. They gave me 10 minutes notice and I had to pick the songs. Sheesh... The things I do for these people. Just kidding :)...... I don't actually mind it. I do wonder though if there really is no one else who plays the piano..... weird. This is not Utah, that's for sure.....
So the next two weeks are vacation :). That's right. Two weeks.... I am not sure if everyone is on vacation, but school is off. Crazy. Apparently they have super long breaks all the time here. Awesome :). Hopefully me and Amelia will be going places and doing things during the break. I will hopefully have some interesting pictures for next time. Sorry these ones are so lame......
Well, the best news ever. You may not be so interested, but I am so happy about it. So, Vivien is in the army. He hasn't had a very happy life which definitely surprises me because he is so happy and wonderful all the time. Well, being in the Army is really hard for him, especially being a member and all. Not everyone there is very nice to him, plus it really is a bad environment. Well, he has decided to leave and get ready to go on a mission :). Yes! I am so happy for him. And he is going to go back home and be with his family and his cousin (who is his best friend.) Anyway, I am so glad. He hasn't been doing so well lately, so I am glad that he is doing this. Plus, he has been wanting to go on a mission forever. This is the best :). He has already started filling out his papers :). Awesome.
Alright, well that is about everything I can think of. Sorry.......
Peace Out.
