So, most recent news..... I am now Spiderman. I would much rather be Batman, but I realize that there is one already. At least I can be a good sidekick now...... :) I will be Robin but with Spiderman's powers, which is better anyways :). Great.
This is our church building in Talance. It is wonderful :). We share a building with the Talance ward because apparently the Eysine Ward's chapel burnt down a few years ago! Crazy. I think they have just started building it again.
I took these pictures because for some reason I think of my family every time I see these. I had to show them, but I thought you could all see as well. I think these door-knocker things are so cool! Also, I love looking at all the doors! They are all different colors and designs and most importantly, old! So cool. Why don't we do this in America?! I have no idea.......
This game is called "Where's Amelia?" (You know.... like "Where's Waldo?") So go find her!
Alright, onto other things :).
First matter of business.... I would like to announce that I am not THAT short. Here I am average! Believe it :). I noticed the other day while standing up in the tram that I am actually as tall as a lot of guys here :). Sad for them I know..... but awesome for me! I don't even feel short anymore! How great......
Also, I would like to share this. So, at the tram stops they have these glass covering things.... if you know what I am talking about. It is glass that goes behind and over you that you can lean against/stand under for when it rains or whatever. Well, yesterday I was standing at one and I looked at the one across from me, and there I see "DANE" scratched into the glass in big letters! What?! I was so excited! I thought I must be missing a letter or something, but nope. There is was. Dane. I was asking Amelia about it later, just to see if it was a common name or if it meant something in French, and she said no :). It is a sign. Me and Amelia decided it must have been an Angel. A vandalizing angel :). But really.... I have been missing Dane SO much lately, and talking about him ALL the time, so I thought it was funny that I should see that :).
Also, hilarious. Amelia's dad! He is so funny! So, he makes bread. It seems to be a very regular thing for him to do, but he has no idea how to do it! I don't even know how to do it, but I have been teaching him things! So funny. His bread is different every time :). Also, he puts sugar in everything! You may think I am kidding, but please believe me:). The other day he made a salad with oil and sugar as a dressing..... :). So funny! So, there is obviously extra sugar in the bread :). It is more of a dessert than anything :). But, I do have to say, it is getting much better. I actually really like it :). Even when the crust chips a tooth :). It is just a new adventure every day :). Another thing that is so funny! So, today there will be some members coming over to watch The Sound of Music.... :). Well, he just LOVES that movie! He has watched it twice in the past couple days, and we will watch it again today :). He tells me every time about how "that movie is inspired," and "very well done." He watched all of the bonus features last night :). He is so cool..... :). Also, tomorrow is his birthday. Happy Birthday!!!! We are going to have a party at his sisters' house. Great.
Great news! Celine, my piano teacher, has asked me to babysit her kids every Wednesday! I will be able to make money!!! Yes! I am so excited! I mean really.... how perfect? So perfect. Huge blessing there!!!

So, I think this is so funny. I love it. While riding the bus I have noticed that bus drivers HAVE to wave to any other bus driver that comes along. It is so funny! It must be part of the job description or something. It is so cool. It is really impossible for them to just pass by without waving. Also, drivers here are so polite! They will stop traffic to let you cross the street. Yesterday I was walking home from practicing, and I was crossing the street. Well, I was waiting for the crossing man to turn green/cars to stop coming when this lady just stopped for me! There were cars waiting behind her and everything! I'm serious, they stop for you almost every time. It is so cool. But, I do have to say that there are CRAZY drivers here! I feel like I am going to die every time I get in a car :). Everyone seems to be so used to driving crazy that everyone survives :).
So, something else I love. Everybody has a different style! It seemed to me that in America it was a lot of Hollister/American Eagle/anything else popular that everyone else was wearing. Well, here, it is honestly whatever you want! I love it! It is so cool.
Well, Amelia and I made German Pancakes for breakfast this morning! Saturday is our make-a-real-breakfast day :). They were delicious. Not as good as my mom's but..... that is no surprise. And honestly I prefer the baguette anyway, so.... why do we even make anything?............ Oh well.... good practice.
So is time going by SO fast for everyone else? It is going by SO fast for me! I have already been here almost a month and a half! What in the world?! How did that even happen?! I am afraid that it will be time for me to leave and I won't have done ANYTHING (namely, learn the language)! Oh well. I am just trying to enjoy it while I can :). Like I said last time, we are still trying to get me a residency permit. I will let you know as soon as I know anything :). I am praying so hard that I will be able to stay!!! I love it here! I'm not ready to leave yet :).
Well, that is all the nonsense that I have for you today. Have the best week!
Oh! For any of you who are interested, these are the songs I am learning at the moment. I am supposed to get new ones next week. We'll see.
Ciao!
