this year, i've been trying to enjoy each holiday and season as it comes.
usually i jump from summer right to christmas; and though it's wonderful,
i'm really trying not to screw up my kids' childhood.
i want them to love fall and halloween and thanksgiving.
i also don't want them to ever be sick of christmas.
so, we've been doing things right this year.

the rightest thing we did was going to this pumpkin patch.
jaker's pumpkin patch is in springville and it's free.
i can't say enough good about this place.
first of all, they had a baby kangaroo
and the fattest pig i've ever seen in their petting zoo....
they also had a corn maze, a hay maze, a corn pit!, huge haystack pyramids to climb, slides, pumpkins, food trucks and more.
i can't say enough good about the place.
and it was free!
we all had so much fun.
arthur cried when we left.

we may not have carved a single pumpkin this year,
but we did go to a pumpkin patch.
one of these years i'll get it all right.
